Unique Malaysia

Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia’s most friendly and accessible tourist destinations. Most Malaysians speak English well and there are miles of pristine, deserted east coast beaches, delightful colonial cities such as Melaka and Georgetown, cool hill resorts such as the Genting Highlands, and exquisite islands such as Langkawi and Penang. There’s also East Malaysia comprising the lands of Sabah, Sarawak and parts of Borneo. The former preserves of head-hunters, these areas offer fascinating glimpses into the past. Here’s a look at three of Malaysia’s unique and wonderful places Melaka, Sarawak and the vibrant capital Kuala Lumpur.

While most tourists to Malaysia stick to the peninsular, a trip to East Malaysia can be very rewarding. The region made up of the provinces of Sabah and Sarawak in North Borneo offers an unparalleled experience for nature lovers. The capital of Sarawak is Kuching, a modern city with a delightful waterfront, landscaped esplanade and in the background stands the great mountain of Gunung Matang.

Your Travel Itinerary To Malaysia

Malaysia is a beautiful country made up of 13 federated states located in Southeast Asia. Originally British colonies, Malaysia is now a multicultural and multilingual country with aspects of everyday life drawn from native Malay and British customs. The official language spoken here is Bahasa Malaysia, although Chinese residing in the country speak their own dialects of the Chinese language, and other languages are spoken sporadically as well.

Another holiday in Malaysia worth experiencing is the Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which is a Muslim holiday where you can meet the King and Queen of Malaysia personally. The line for this privilege can stretch for miles outside the palace in Kuala Lumpur, but is worth the wait. After all, how many opportunities do you get to meet a king? During this holiday, Muslims practice an “open house” where anyone can drop by whether you know the hosts or not and share a feast. The Hari Raya Aidilfitri is one of the most festive of Muslim holidays, occurring after the fasting month of Ramadan.

Malaysia - Truly Asia

Malaysia is one of the most enjoyable and welcoming countries to visit in Asia. Being a developing country, Malaysia has been achieving impressive economic growth, in-line with its goal of achieving ‘developed nation’ status, through the organized and detailed plans of ‘Vision 2020′! Having said that, Malaysia has seen significant growth over the past decade or so, in terms of the economy, advancement in infrastructure and mega projects, like roadways and highways throughout the country; and of course development for the people, for example in residential and commercial projects and office buildings, one of which includes the world-famous and world’s tallest structure, the Petronas Twin Towers, soaring high in the skies.
